About
I am a filmmaker compelled by my fascination with form and life's contradictory forces. I often employ a sensorial approach, exploring ways for form to be an extension of content.
My films have screened at festivals including the Austin Film Festival, Hot Docs, and the St. Louis Int’l Film Festival, and at community screenings hosted at Buddy Guy’s Legends, the Chicago History Museum, and the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. My work has also been supported by Northwestern's Buffett Institute on Global Affairs, the University Film and Video Association, as well as state and local government.
My full length feature directorial debut MEDUSA, which explores this liminal figure in a modern context, premiered at the Santa Cruz Film Festival in 2025. Currently, I’m editing THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD: A FORGIVENESS JOURNEY WITH DESMOND TUTU and A BETTER WAY JAMES LAWSON, ARCHITECT OF NONVIOLENCE (feature documentaries Directed by Karen Hayes, Ubuntu Motion Pictures).
One of my proudest moments was being recognized by the American Society of Cinematographers as a finalist for the Vilmos Zsigmond Student Heritage Award for my work on EMERALD ICE. As a director of photography and camera person, I've collaborated with fellow filmmakers on projects featured at IDFA, the Chicago Int’l Film Festival, DocLisboa, and National Geographic’s short film showcase.
I have a background in curriculum development, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the University of Dayton, I taught courses such as Audio Production, Film Marketing & Distribution, Advocacy Filmmaking, and Documentary Theory. In my capacity as Filmmaker in Residence at Northwestern University, I conducted production labs, developed pedagogical content, and provided mentorship to students.
I received a BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University.
